Cudos Developer Tools: Understing the Cudos Blast

With the launch of the CUDOS blockchain mainnet, developers now have the opportunity to build applications that run faster, cheaper, secure and in a sustainable manner. New developer tools have been developed to support and enable smart contract development testing and deployment to the chain. One of the developer tools is the Cudos Blast which is one of the developer tools for interacting with chain.

Cudos Blast is a Command-Line Interface (CLI) toolkit designed to make developing on the Cudos chain as simple as possible. You easily build a project ready to work with the Cudos chain. CLIs are text-based user interface (UI) used to run programs, manage computer files and interact with the computer. Command-line interfaces are also called command-line user interfaces, console user interfaces and character user interfaces. Similarly, Cudos Blast makes it easy for developers to issue, run and query the chain for transaction details.

Uses of the Cudos Blast CLI include
Scaffold, compile and test Rust smart contracts. (You can test using JavaScript and Rust).

1. Deploy smart contracts on a local, test or public network.
2. Interact with smart contracts using blast.config.js on a specified network.
3. Spin up a local Cudos node to interact with.

Setting up the Cudos Blast requires Node.js and NPM to be installed as shown in the figure above. Compose is also needed to manage the libraries. With the prerequisites set up, one can now proceed with installing Rust programming language. Developers can now create global projects or make them local where it is a single project.
