The CUDOS Network and Ecosystem: The human and infrastructure layers
Cudos blockchain recently launched its mainnet on in July with a promise to change Play2earn games, DeFi and provide cheaper computing power. The supporting ecosystem for this is growing creating use cases for all. As a special-purpose blockchain, it is designed to provide high-performance, trustless and permissionless cloud computing across the globe. The network has an entire ecosystem supporting its growth and this spans both developers and non-developers.
What is great about the ecosystem is the ability of anybody, either directly or indirectly, a developer or a non-developer to interact with the Cudos network. I have categorised them in the human and infrastructure layers.
1. Human Layer
The Cudos network is human-centred and designed for builders (developers) and non-developers who need decentralised solutions. Here is how everyone benefits from the cudos ecosystem.
A. Benefits for Builders: Builders get high performance with applications deployed on Cudos. Applications run faster on cheaper computing resources. Asset management on the Cudos chain is easy and will become highly interoperable with other chains built on the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol.
B. Benefits for non-developers (users): The high and secure cryptographic features of Cudos offer safety and trust for users who need a transparent public blockchain. Cudos is also sustainable and carbon-neutral which will help towards net zero.
C. Consensus Model: The consensus model of Cudos makes room for everyone to participate via the delegated proof of stake (DPoS) model by staking their tokens to back validators. This gives everyone the opportunity f to contribute to the health of the network and also maintain the network integrity through governance participation
2. Infrastructure Layer
Cudus is built for builders who wish to deploy solutions that are cheaper but high-performing. Key technical components of the ecosystem for developers include:
A. Smart Contract Layer: Cudos is layer-1 smart contract built on the Cosmos ecosystem’s CosmWasm platform. This makes it able to process games, DeFi and video rendering faster. Later the Cudos smart contract will become EVM compatible via the Ethermint compatible. The Cusdos smart contract is built on Rust programming language which has been declared as the best language since 2015.
B. Core Infrastructure Layer: The Cudos network is built on the Tendermint core and supported by the Cosmos SDK. As mentioned earlier, asset movement is faster due to the integration with Inter-Blockchian Communication (IBC).
C. The Cudos Faucet: For developers who want to test the network, the Cudos faucet makes that possible. Each address is allocated 10 test tokens for use to pay gas fees within the ecosystem.
The Cudos network has benefits for all categories of users. Participate in the network and build solutions on it.
About Cudos
Cudos is powering the metaverse bringing together DeFi, NFTs and gaming experiences to realise the vision of a decentralised Web3, enabling all users to benefit from the growth of the network. We’re an interoperable, open platform launchpad that will provide the infrastructure required to meet the 1000x higher computing needs for the creation of fully immersive, gamified digital realities. Cudos is a Layer 1 blockchain and Layer 2 community-governed compute network, designed to ensure decentralised, permissionless access to high-performance computing at scale. Our native utility token CUDOS is the lifeblood of our network and offers an attractive annual yield and liquidity for stakers and holders.
